October/November 2006

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving Day (and Luuc's 25th birthday) at the beach this year! Who says Thanksgiving can't be a picnic? We also had a nice dinner with friends later on.





























November was a great month because we had visitors from Illinois! Dider and Kate were out for a long weekend & we had a great time. We went to the beach ......























Wine country ... beautiful! Too bad Kate couldn't join in the wine-tasting ... but isn't she an adorable mommy-to-be?
















And of course a day in Hollywood complete with a tour of historic Hollywood and the Stars' homes! Fabulous.

August/September 2006

Lindsay took a trip back to IL in August to visit fam & friends.

I also went to Palm Springs for a weekend with my friend Kelly for some relaxation ..... we got massages! It was awesome. Our little beetle also enjoyed the trip to Palm Springs.

Not much else happening this month except for work! Luuc is still loving his position at Jaguar. Lindsay is adjusting to a new school year with a diverse caseload. We did manage to get away & go to a baseball game one weekend! Go Dodgers!

July 2006

Visitors from Holland!

Gepke and Anne-Margreet spent three weeks with us! We had a great time. Here we are before our whale-watching excursion.

We spent some time around the house ......

And took a trip to Mexico!

Anne-Margreet is also working on a blog from their trip! They took more pictures than we did! The ladies were quite adventurous and took two big trips - Yosemite/San Francisco and The Grand Canyon!

May/June 2006

We finally made the seven-hour trip to see the Grand Canyon. We are so glad we went. It is quite amazing!

We also stopped by the Hoover Dam on our way home....

and camped at Lake Mead (it was 100 degrees there at 11:30pm!)

they are moving back to IL this month.

April 2006

Here we are at Catalina Island! We took a spring break/2nd anniversary trip for a weekend. It was a beautiful island with lots of fun history.

Luuc is loving his job with Jaguar & is starting to get in on some Aston Martin business. This was an equestrian event that he worked at.

Lindsay also gave snowboarding a try over Spring Break with a friend from work at Big Bear. By the end of the day, we were doing great on the bunny slopes!

March 2006

We started out this month with a whale-watching trip at Dana Point. We didn't see any whales, but HUNDREDS of dolphins! They were completely surrounding the boat - amazing! We were too excited to take more pictures :)

We spent a weekend in Carlsbad for a Jaguar training. Luuc went to trainings to learn about the new Jag being released in April, and Lindsay enjoyed the luxurious spa treatments at the hotel. We both got to

experience a ride in the new jag with Roberto Guerrero, a famous NASCAR driver. It was WILD!

This is the gorgeous view from our hotel room. LOVED it.





Carlsbad is known for it's flower fields! They just started blooming when we were there. It feels just like Holland!

We'll end this month with a picture of my Grandpa Sancken that we found on the internet. He is second from the right on the bottom row. He was quite the banjo player!

Welcome to The Dahm's blogspot! We created a New Years blog, but it was never sent out ... you can still see our "2005" synopsis if you are interested. Just thought this would be a good way to share all of those fun pictures that just sit in our computer.
So ........ here are a few highlights from this month so far .....


At the beginning of the month we traded in our Mercury Sable for a VW Beetle "Turbo" -- respectfully named "Scotty Boy" in honor of Scott Sancken and Jan Wicher Dam. It is so fun to drive around - We love it!




We had some forest fires burn pretty darn close to our home .... there were ashes floating around in the sky & in the picture from our front door you can see the smoke billowing from behind the mountain. Kind of scary!



February is not complete without a nice Valentine date! We were treated by a generous client of Luuc's to an extravagant meal at a resturant on the top of a hill ..... so romantic! :)
